Lesson 2 – Pitch, Melody, Harmony, Musical Alphabets

In today’s lesson we’ll be learning about:

Pitch, Harmony, Melody & Musical Alphabets.

  • A Pitch is any sound that you hear either high,
low or somewhere in between. And now,
let me give you an example.

Here’s an example of Low Pitch – (Audio clip by The Foundations of Rock by Walter Everett)

Here’s an example of a High Pitch – (Audio clip by The Foundations of Rock by Walter Everett)

These Pitches are arranged in a certain recognisable  order  called MUSICAL ALPHABETS –
A      B      C      D      E       F       G     After the note G  the whole sequence of these musical notes repeat again and again.

Next we come to learn what we call HARMONY in music.

What is Harmony?

Harmony is the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce a pleasing effect. The below Video will explain this in detail.
